花序顶生或仅刚刚侧生，多常分枝，多花。花中等大，5数。萼明显分成5等裂。花冠星状辐形或星形，中等大，径约1.5厘米。花药椭圆形，孔顶生，向内，斜。石细胞粒存在。无刺灌木或小乔木。叶全缘。绿色部分常密被星状毛茸。
泛热带2种，中国1种。
